ABOUT
LLOYD MIFFLIN was a noted painter, a prolific poet, and serious amateur photographer. He was born in Columbia, Pennsylvania on 15 September 1846. He died, also, in Columbia, Pennsylvania on 16 July 1921 at his beloved Norwood Estate.
The LLOYD MIFFLIN SOCIETY was initially formed by Jerry King Musser on 4 September 2023 as a tribute website and Facebook page honoring Lloyd Mifflin and other historic creative individuals with a connection to Columbia, Pennsylvania.
On 12 May 2026, the LLOYD MIFFLIN SOCIETY entered into an agreement to establish the SOCIETY as a nonprofit, limited liability corporation. It is the goal to follow this status by attaining a full-fledged 501(c)(3) designation sometime in 2027.
MISSION
The mandate of the LLOYD MIFFLIN SOCIETY is
to research, preserve, and disseminate accurate information concerning the life, work, and times of Lloyd Mifflin;
to collect, preserve, and display paintings, photographs, documents, and artifacts relating to Lloyd Mifflin or his family;
to acquire, secure, and maintain a suitable facility to serve as a public research center, exhibition space, and associative museum;
and, to reach an audience beyond that of Lloyd Mifflin's hometown of
Columbia, Pennsylvania.
